Ingredients
- 1 ½ C of melted butter
- 3 C of sugar
- 1 Tbsp of vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 2 C of sifted flour
- 1 C of cocoa powder
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 C of semisweet chocolate chips (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F / 175°C.
- Grease a deep baking dish with butter and dusted with flour.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs using a wire whisk.
- Add in the salt, baking powder, cocoa powder, and sifted flour until well combined.
- If adding chocolate chips or any other morsel, add them now and reserve a bit to sprinkle on top as well.
- Optionally, pour half the batter in the dish, layer some peanut butter cups or similar across the batter, and top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the dishware.
- Allow the brownies to cool entirely on a wire rack before cutting into squares and serving.
