Gingerbread Men

Super simple and oh so delicious Gingerbread Men recipe! Can also be used to make gingerbread houses!

Ingredients
  • 250 g of butter
  • 200 g of muscovado sugar
  • 4 Tbsp of golden syrup
  • 2 Tbsp of treacle
  • 600 g of flour
  • 2 tsp of baking soda
  • 4 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp of ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp of ground clove
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 355°F.
  2. Melt the butter, muscovado sugar, golden sugar, and treacle on low heat until melted. Allow it to cool slightly before adding to flour mixture below.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove until well blended.
  4. Pour the warm liquid mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture, and fold evenly until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough onto grease-proof parchment paper, into a thin flat dough, and cut out the gingerbread men using a cookie cutter. Remove the excess dough and re-roll to repeat process.
  6. Bake the gingerbread men for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven.
